[Kyocera Thermal Print Head]
The Kyocera thermal print head uses the thin-film technique to form a thermal storage layer called a "glazed layer" with glass deposited on the ceramic substrate. It prints by conveying the heat generated by passing an electric current through the heating element to the thermal paper or ink ribbon. Since it forms a thin film for the heating element, the dot pattern is precise and equal, and it excels in heat response (that is, the response interval from when the electric current is sent to the generation of heat). This characteristic makes it possible to perform high-speed, superfine printing. By changing the height and profile of the glaze layer, the head can be customized so that is most suitable for a broad range of applications and materials. | |
